AfricaData makes health and demographic data from the Demographic and Health Surveys (DHS) Program accessible to everyone. We believe that data should be open, clear, and useful for researchers, policymakers, journalists, and citizens across the African continent.
All statistics on this site are derived from nationally representative household surveys conducted by the DHS Program. These surveys collect data on population, health, HIV, and nutrition to monitor and evaluate population, health, and nutrition programs.
